11 year old, Appendix gelding
Classy looking bay roan standing at 16h. Gorgeous mover and very willing to work with you. Kiowa came from the Brownin Reservation in Montana. I've had him for half a year and he's finally ready for sales. Due to his earlier behavior (extremely shy and mistrusting towards humans) and a scar on his throat I believe his previous life wasn't the easiest. He's also a "growler" meaning his larynx is shut open (which I believe is a tribute to that scar) and when he breathes heavily, he makes a growling noise. This however doesn't affect his performance. He ties, bathes, stands for the farrier without any issues and travels like a champ (loads on his own and backs out nicely).
I've ridden him western and English. Did extensive ground driving, cattle work and rode him all over the Rocky Mountains. Bareback rides, crossing rivers and swimming in lakes, no adventure was missed. A couple months ago I started swinging a rope off of him and focused on more elaborated flat work. Proper collection, stops, backups, spins, rollbacks, lateral movement, opening and closing gates, etc. He is not a total beginner horse. He needs a confident, solid, soft handed rider that will keep his mind busy and be good to him. This is a phenomenal horse and he deserves the best possible forever home.
